Aged Silver Needles ( Baihao Yinzhen) 2012

A type of White Tea produced in Fujian Province in China, also known as Baihao Yinzhen. First produced in 1885 and made from cultivars of the Da Bai tea tree family. Amongst white teas, this is the most expensive variety and the most prized, as only top buds are picked to produce the tea. White tea is also very suitable for aging because of tea enzymes left in the tea buds that further oxidize the tea and change it to more mellow and fruity taste. According to local farmers: "One year is tea, three years are medicine and seven years are treasure!"

PS. This is aged more than 10 years which is regarded as treasured white tea.
